Starting with Gratitude
Every new year Elisabeth starts with a list of things she’s grateful for. She asked me to do the same.
Things I’m grateful for as we begin the New Year:
-My families health.
Every night I pray for my families safety, health and happiness. My prayers are continually answered and I am so unbelievably fortunate and grateful.
-Our jobs.
After being on maternity leave for three months I came back to my job as a salon manager- a job that I love with a team of stylists I adore. In light of the recent government shutdown I have become even more grateful for my husband’s job and the fact that we aren’t affected by this kind of interference.
-My friendships
Both blossoming and rooted ones. I will admit that one of my favorite kinds of friendships are those that can be neglected and then rekindled without a second thought. As a new parent I find it difficult to maintain the kind of friendships I had before kids. So I truly appreciate the friendships that have persevered.
-The accessibility of sustainable products
My mother raised us with the mantra “Recycle, reuse, reduce”. So, of course, in my household we do our best to be environmentally friendly and using sustainable products is one of the most important aspects for me. In recent years more and more companies have emerged offering these kinds of products and I couldn’t be happier for it.
-Hygge I suppose it really goes without saying, but I’m so incredibly grateful for hygge. The changes I’ve had in my life recently have all started with a hygge mentality. The friendships I mentioned are nurtured by hygge. And all of this right here, was started with hygge.
