New Year New Gratitude

The beginning of the new year is an excellent time to take a minute to reflect on all the things that have made your year. There is an old wives tale that says however you go into the new year will predict the rest of the year. Starting out with a mindset of gratitude has always proven my year be a more positive one. Here are the top 5 things that I am grateful for in 2019.
1.) Every new day is a new opportunity. When I call my father (who is 85) his first response to how are you is, “well, I got up this morning!” Maybe his response seems a bit macabre, but I know it comes from a place of gratitude. He has another day for another wonderful opportunity.
2.) My kids. They are the guiding lights of my life and the reason I do everything that I do.
3.) Creativity. Not just in the classical sense. Even though I am eternally grateful to be inspired creatively through the arts, I am grateful for my creativity in being resourceful.
Most days, I have to use some creativity to get through the day. From figuring out how to get everyone where they need to be, to making a meal work for 5 different dietary needs. I am so grateful that I can be creatively resourceful with my time, money, and patience.
4.) Hygge sessions with my bestie. Anytime Amanda texts me about coming over for tea, I just about drop anything. Sometimes we only have that 15 minutes between work and picking up the kids. These moments are rejuvenating and help me reset my whole day. It is really like my therapy.
5.) Finally, I am extremely grateful to have found my purpose and starting this website is the perfect outlet for it. Having worked with the public for years, the same comment would come up over and over again, “you are helpful, a healer, and a holistic guru of sorts” . Through much self reflection over the last year, I realized that being a mentor and wellness coach is my calling.
